Berrybank Copse

Berrybank CopseThis small woodland site is a green lung, providing a haven for a variety of wildlife and is of great value to local residents. A number of impressive oak trees grow along the site boundary and a row of yews form a historic boundary line as a remnant of the site's past as Ministry of Defence land. Breathing Places Project

Berrybank Copse has undergone a transformation following a grant from BBC Breathing Places and an opening event was held in June. Local residents have been involved in several Project Action Days to improve the woodland for people and wildlife.

Improvements so far:

  • Removal of invasive bamboo and rhododendron
  • Wildflower and tree planting in cleared areas
  • New circular path
  • Pond filled and planted
  • Stag beetle loggery created
  • New bird, bug and bat boxes installed
  • New benches and bin

The project has been carried out in partnership with Sandhurst Town Council.
