Westmorland Park was established as part of the public open space provision within the Whitegrove housing development and was transferred to the ownership of the Council in 1999.

Recreation at Westmorland ParkThis approximately eight-hectare site includes grassy areas, a hay meadow, shrub beds, mature parkland trees, a lime tree avenue and Hayley Green Wood. A large variety of recreational activities are catered for through its paths, open spaces, play areas and pavilion. Numerous sports facilities are also available, including three tennis courts, several football pitches, a basketball court and a baseball diamond.

Westmorland Park was created to serve the people of Warfield and north-east Bracknell. Are you interested in its future? Do you have ideas, feedback or concerns about how it is run or used? Green Flag Award Scheme

The Civic Trust's Green Flag Award Scheme is a national standard for the quality of public parks and green spaces in England and Wales. Sites are judged on eight criteria: 1) A welcoming place 2) Healthy, safe and secure 3) Well maintained and clean 4) Sustainability 5) Conservation and heritage 6) Community involvement 7) Marketing and 8) Management.

Westmorland Park received Green Flag Awards in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 when the site was praised for its welcoming nature, access, equipment and facilities and conservation of natural features

Other Green Flag Award winning sites in Bracknell Forest include Pope’s Meadow in Binfield, Lily Hill Park in Bracknell and Shepherd Meadows/Sandhurst Memorial Park in Sandhurst.

Westmorland Park includes a balancing pond, which stores excess water during heavy rainfall. This is owned and maintained by Thames Water, who can be contacted by telephone on 0845 9200 800 or at:
